I have a 2021 Hybrid Limited that was built in Japan for the New Zealand market. Unfortunately a bird hit the front emblem and put a lot of cracks in it. The dealership quoted me a price for the part that was crazy (about $600 USD). Any idea of why so much? Are there any sensors under it that could be impacted if I don't fix it. It is a visual issue, no pieces have fallen and it is not sharp. Also, if I do need to repair it, any other ideas of where to get it cheaper.

The sensor is for the adaptive cruise as well as the automatic emergency braking functions, both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian. If all of those functions are still operable I would think you are ok but I'm not a mechanic or expert on this component of the car. Some on this site have applied a smoked tint to the emblem and claimed it did not affect any of the functionality. If the cracks bother you ( they would me ) maybe the tint would eliminate them visually or at lest make them less obvious. If you use the Search Community bar there are some posts regarding the front emblem and its function as well as posts on those who have tinted the emblem to black it out. Good luck.

BAM Wholesales usually have lower pricing than the dealer and they have OEM parts. However, it can be difficult to find the part you're looking for on their site. If you can get the part number that Toyota quoted you, then you can find it directly on the BAM website. I have made many purchases from BAM and all have been without issue.

What you see is purely cosmetic. I see them from time to time on Ebay:2019-2021 toyota rav 4 front OEM sonar emblem #53141-33130 | eBay

The actual sensor is behind the emblem. I also see them on Ebay: 2021 TOYOTA RAV4 FRONT CRUISE CONTROL RADAR SENSOR OEM GRILLE DISTANCE MODULE | eBay

Unless the sensor is damaged, all you need do is replace the emblem.

Is that price because you are in NZ, a captive market, or say buying from the USA would be cheaper & having it shipped over.

Actually, 53141-33130 is the non-Hybrid version

The hybrid version is 53141-33140

Terrible idea for tinting that emblem or putting anything unless you don't use adaptive cruise
Only going by the experiences some have reported on this site which has been no issue after tinting. I know snow blockage of the emblem affects the radar performance but all of the reviews I read for tinting the emblem have been positive. I personally have not tinted mine so I'm not speaking from experience.

Maybe but I use DCC a lot and don't want to take chances. They do have warning about it in that link

Even the Toyota OEM black overlay emblems leave off the overlay for the front TSS sensor.
