Hi everyone!

I'm trying to purchase a 2022
RAV4 Hybrid XLE for my mom with the following trim build: Blizzard Pearl Exterior / Nutmeg Interior. I live in Southern California, and have had no luck finding or even ordering this combination with my local dealerships.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this combo or where I might find it? Like an inventory search website.

Thank you

www.buyatoyota.com will let you look at your Toyota Region’s inventory based on you zip code you input. If you don’t live in a CARB state/region, then look in neighboring regions as well. I hope your Regional manager likes Nutmeg interiors and ordered lots for your area, since they are in control and ‘know what their customers want’.

You may have to put a deposit down and wait for Nutmeg allocation to your dealer from the factory. I waited 3 months because my region is close to Canada and they did not order any 2020 R4Hybrids with adaptive headlight (only made in Japan at the time). I switched my deposit to a R4Prime and waited another 8 months to get my R4Prime from the first wave of deliveries that hit USA.

I tried this Toyota web site to look for a RV4 Hybrid back in October. I wouldn't enter my contact information, for local dealers, but see what they posted as in stock, then call the dealership. In every case, the cars showing "in their inventory" had actually been pre-sold; ordered in advance. So the cars that show up, in this online search, weren't for sale at all, just a bait and switch. Every dealer I called said, "give us a down payment, and we will order a car for you" One dealer wanted a $1000 non-refundable deposit to be put on a list, then I would have to wait and see what showed up !

Another dealership explained, "when cars arrive on the lot, (even cars they have already sold) we have to show them in our online inventory, until the car is picked up".

Sure.

As others have said, there is no inventory to search; all cars are pre-sold before they even get to the dealer. That was my experience back in May.

I am fortunate to have my local dealer. I had no problem in ordering an XLE Premium hybrid in Blueprint exterior and Nutmeg interior. Placed the order at the end of May and within two weeks, the dealer had a production date of July 24. It was delivered in mid August.

I love the Nutmeg interior.

To be fair to our dealer, we went to a Vermont Toyota lot, and although they had no RV4 Hybrids on hand for sale, they had a car allocated to be built in 2 weeks in Kentucky. We put down a deposit on this RV4 Hybrid, with the salesperson and sales manager signing the price quote, with the serial number on the document. I didn't want to accept the specs , and then find out we are getting a different , maybe more expensive car with features or add-ons we didn't want.
Car was deliverd to us for MSRP, as agreed, 5 weeks after we put down the deposit. Cash sale.

Glad you were able to get the Nutmeg interior! I bet you get a lot of compliments on it.

Hi, what specs didn't you want on your car? Sorry, I wasn't able to follow. So did you not get the car you wanted and ended up paying more?

Well we didn't want to pay for extended warranty, $60 plastic license plate frames, $140 door edge guard, protective paint treatment, $129.00 mudguards, etc, etc. We did get the car we put the deposit down on ; RV4 Hybrid LE, with Cross Traffic/Blind Spot, All Weather floor liners and cargo mat, and a special Ruby Pearl paint. Like the Blind Spot warning, could have passed on the special paint, but car was already being built. Paid MSRP, only extras as mentioned. So exactly the price, and VIN number the dealer had us put a deposit for..
Later I bought a Weather Tech cargo liner.
