Hello everyone
i have a Rav4 XLE premium 2022 and I am Looking for all-weather tires
Would you mind telling me which one you prefer?
1: CROSS CLIMATE 2 SUV
2: NOKIAN TYRES WRG4 SUV
3: NOKIAN TYRES OUTPOST APT
Note: 👇
OUTPOST APT has a speed rating of H, and my recommendation for rav4 is V
Does using different speed ratings affect my car in any way??

thanks

Speed ratings are important only if you exceed their value. If you don't drive 100mph then you don't need tires spec'd for that speed.

I doubt you'll find anyone who has used all 3 of those tires but I have CC2 on my R4P and I've been impressed with them. Good on snow, good on ice (almost as good as studded tires IMHO) and quiet. I can't speak to rolling-resistance or wear but given how quiet they are I expect them to do fine in the summer too.

The higher speed rated tires have stiffer side walls, thus are more efficient, i.e. better gas mileage. Years ago when the Prius came out with W speed rated tires, people thought Toyota was crazy: there is no way a Prius can go 168 MPH. But there was a definite reason for them.

That's an interesting point but many tires today are advertised as LRR (low rolling resistance) independent of their speed rating. I'd be more concerned about a tire being LRR than its speed rating although it appears they may be related.

I got rid of the factory Michelin tires on my XSE at 3700 miles and had Michelin CC2s installed.
Easily the best tire I have ever bought. Couldn't be happier with their performance on wet, dry, snowy and ice covered roads.
Very smooth and quiet. They feel so much more planted and connected to the road.
Highly recommend them.

I bought a set of CC2s for my Sienna some months ago and have been impressed with them. They are slightly noisier than the standard "all weather" tires they replaced but otherwise they performed well and they handled our recent snow really well (I have a driveway that could pass for small ski slope.) I will be putting a set on my RAV4 when the factory tires need replacement.

A late reply but I'd like to endorse the above comments about the CC2's. I have about 5,000 miles on mine and have been very happy with them. My mileage did drop about 2-4 mpg compared to the OEM Dunlaps. But the CC2's were a vast improvement over the Dunlaps in dry road handling, and very impressive in bad weather. They excel on wet, icy or snowy roads. I've never had a problem with traction. For me the drop in mileage was a minor point. I highly recommend them.

I've been running Nokian Tyres (the WR G series) for many, many years on my Saturn sedans, Saturn Vue Hybrid, 2008 HiHy and, soon, my 2018 RAV4 Hybrid. I live in Vermont and they have been stupendous on snow and ice and still perform really well on dry. This year, they HiHy needed tires and the WRG4s were nowhere to be seen in my size, so I purchased Nordman Solstice tires. These are actually leftover Nokian WR G3 tires with the same tread pattern, etc.

I can't possibly give a stronger recommendation ... these tires are great!

The Nitto Crosstek 2 235/55R18 104V works fine for my 2011 RAV Sport

Another thumbs up for the Crossclimate 2's. I've had them on all winter and they have done very good in fairly deep snow (6-8" or 15-20 cm) as well as on icy roads. They are quiet and handle well. I would not hesitate to buy another set!

Hi everyone,

I am new here, but to take part in this vote I have to say Michelin Cross Climate 2 SUV, I have 4 of these and they are amazing. Size on mine are 235/60/R18, very good quality and safety on the road.
Take care
