I see many with the rsa feature talking about only getting the speed limit sign and no others and that is the same for me also but mine does something and I need to know if it is normal because on every other car I have had with this feature it works as follows. I am driving down the road and the front camera sees a speed limit sign, that goes up in my screen behind steering wheel and with my car on the hud display also. All other cars have kept that sign up on the screen until another sign updates it but mine goes completely away after 30 seconds to a minute and stays away until another camera sees another sign and it starts over but it never stays up like it should imho. I look down sometimes wondering what the speed limit happens to be and unless we just passed a speed limit sign there is nothing there in the screen behind steering wheel and hud, nothing unitl a new sign comes up. I will say that it seems to stay up on my nav map if I open it but that is not the way I keep my screen. What about this, is this what everybody else is experiencing? I just had in Toyota for the recall and told them about them and they did not seem to know what I was talking about or how to correct it if something was wrong. Thanks for any advice

I did not see that particular situation in the manual but I will look again. And in response to your answer regarding using your eyes, I look down sometime to see what the speed limit is and there is nothing there. So that is why they give us this option since speed limit signs are not posted every 10 ft. It could not help you using your eyes unless there happens to be a sign that you go by and my rural driving they change alot. If it is in the manual like you suggest, it is amazing that the toyota dealer (service and sales) did not know what I was talking about.

@twilloo, if you happen to find a suitable reason that would explain the issue you're seeing with the speed limit signs, please do update here. I'm also very curious what would be causing this because in all the other car makes I've driven with this feature, the sign stays on.

@iTim314 your sass is completely uncalled for. OP asked an honest question and comments like yours ruin the experience for others on this forum.

The situation you're looking for is on P. 334. "In the following situations, a displayed speed limit sign and/or do not enter sign will stop being displayed automatically: 1) No sign has been recognized for a certain distance. 2) The road changes due to a left or right turn, etc." The first situation is vague about what the certain distance is, but that's likely why the sign disappears. All of this is perfectly normal behavior.

Well pertaining to the response above, the manual again was not my friend since I could not find anything that answers my question and that is why I posted here. If you have the same kind of car as I do, they could you just not tell me what your car does? I do see that when I go over the speed limit and the sign happens to be displaying that there is a red outline but only if the sign is already up. I have had many cars that have this but never on that goes away only updates when a new sign pops up. Thanks for every ones help.

On mine, the speed limit sign appears, and then disappears after a little while until another sign appears. Mine does exactly what the manual says it will do.

I don't know if the Prime has a different system but on my 2019 Limited the only time that multiple signs will show individually rather than stacked is if you're on this screen on the MID. I really don't remember ever seeing mine not display a speed limit sign. I do wish the red outline was a bit thicker though but I usually know when I'm over the speed limit.

This is from my 2019 manual. I have seen things that are missing in newer manuals that are still in my 2019 so I have a collection. For some reason, I do not have the Prime.
