So lots of internet searching and not much helpful comments....I thought hey give it a go and at least everyone will learn from the experience. (and hopefully help along the way.)

I got a cheap XA50 Door card with memory switch and window switches etc.

Off Ebay
First observation is that the Switch holder(Red 2 in image) is plastic welded(Red 3 in image) into the Door card....so if you like me have a Red stitching...this gets a little more tricky but not imposable to swap over.

You need the Switch holder(Red 2 in image) as the switch clips into the plastic slot holder and cutting and adding the switch without this holder although possible could be tricky to brace/hold.

SO that the easy part out the way.....

Wiring and Body Control unit(BCU) etc...is the next journey.

I can confirm in my right hand drive Suzuki Across(RAV4prime) UK version the Door Wire harness does not contain the Memory Switch wire. Was looking to see if I can get a wire harness off ebay...but not winning just yet.

I'm hoping that someone on here with TIS access can get a wire pinout for Part Number: 82152-42J21 which I'm guessing based on price on parts.toyota.com is the Left hand drive version that has the memory switch option.

It would be good to know if this has dedicated wires going all the way back to the BCU or if it just connects into the Cam-bus somehow (Help would be greatly appreciated.)

Regards

Following.

Memory seats has typically been one of the most difficult options to add to a vehicle. (But one of the most desired in my case) My preferred options are memory seats and no sunroof. I don't think any manufacturer makes that combination.

Do you know if the seat position sensors are included in your vehicle as well, or will they have to be added too?

Have you looked into the key fobs to see if your current ones are different from XSE Premium models?

I have attached wiring diagrams for power seats with and without memory. It states that they are for left hand drive so you might have some difficulty there but the information should be more than what you have now.

Thank you Jfox562 - Looks like I'll be playing on the weekend and will report findings.

Update: 2020 Suzuki Across - UK does not have ECU in the SEAT. (aka position sensor)

In other news Techstream connects to Suzuki Across (AXAH5x) and puts a *Driver Seat which tells you it can't talk to the Seat ECU.

So I will be looking for a 2020 Rav4AX50 - Excel Seat in the uk via Ebay (ÂŁ150-250 ish....will update on the Door Switch wires this weekend.

Hope you enjoy this journey. Even if it ends in Failure... :)

RockingMan: I have a challenge for you to investigate as you go down your rabbit hole. There are many options out there to add lighted window and door lock switches to the (US and Canadian) RAV4, but I could not find a lighted seat memory switch. Do you know if such a thing exists (lighted seat memory switch)? Lighted seat memory switch possible?

During my investigations into obtaining a switch, I did not come across any after market switches. Thus I purchased Original door card and OEM without lighting switch.

Yay….it was just a simple case of swapping the seat.

Techstream now now sees the seat ecu.

Everything on the seat works…heating, movement, seat belt detector…:)

next step door wires and as I don’t have the wire harness …I’ve traced them to the JG1 connected.

Besides the ECU under the seat, does your original seat look different underneath as compared to new one with memory?

in other words, is the presence of the ECU the only difference or are the motors or other items different?

Motors are all different….they have 3wires(correction 4 wires) going to them…and feedback location.....I wouldn't attempt to replace....I am however going to swap the original seat covers...they should just slip off...slip on.

Hi Espos, not had much time. I had a quick go at following the pin-out of the left hand drive door wire diag above for the switch and thought I got translated the right pins as they seemed to correspond to empty wire sockets, but these didn't seam to work.....or at least didn't didn't work (ign -on door closed.) I didn't have any more time to diag.

Planning to plug in the techstream and see if the buttons turn on and off if they reflect in techstream....but haven't had a chance.

Too be continued. :)

Are you able to at least install the memory seat frame and use it as a power seat (without memory)until you complete the install of the memory function ?
