Hi folks,
I now have the ability to charge my car at work via some 120V outlets in the garage. It's free. The only issue is:
1) The level 1 OEM charger charges at 12 amps max
2) I'm only at work for 8 hours, so I often leave without a full charge -- around 2/3's
3) I only go into work 3x a week
I've been looking at a 16 amp level 1 charger like these:
ev-lectron.com
I see in some of the reviews, some Rav4 Prime owners seem to have done this. Any thoughts? I suppose the cost needs to be offset by the amount of electricity surplus over the OEM charger I can get. Also, does anyone know how to pull charging statistics from the Rav4? I think that's one of the biggest gripes about the infotainment system. It doesn't tell you the amount of power input from charging.
