I put Weathertech mats down and there's no problem/interference. They're custom fit perfectly around the pedal area with a raised edge so any and all moisture from snow melt or whatever is contained. It even has the two holes for the retainers in the rear so it can't possibly slide forward and get under the pedal which caused the "unintended acceleration" problem Toyota had before. I've ordered tuxmat mats, they seem to have a tighter fit around the pedal............

That's not a bad idea. I wonder if there's a computer module(s) that control the seat, though. And, if so, is it already built into the seat or is it mounted somewhere else deep in the vehicle? If the seat just needs power, that should be easy enough. But, if it needs power and signal/control from another component, those data lines could add quite a bit of complexity to the install.
I purchased a 22 LE because it was the only one available at the time. The only thing I really dislike is the non powered driver seat. I can’t find that sweet spot. I asked parts and service at my dealer about putting in a powered seat from a XLE into my LE. Short answer, no, they can’t. Longer answer, still no, the body control module makes it almost impossible. Because seats have the shoulder airbags. They just can’t drop in a seat and supply power. Too much integration. the trim levels can’t simply be mixed and matched.
Cutting or lowering the passenger seat pedestal might be easy. But what does that do to airbag sensors? What about airbag deployment? Would the bag “hit” the passenger in the proper way?
I wish there was an easy way. It appears there isn’t.

So has anyone managed to get the seat or bottom frame ordered from the opposite drive vehicle and retro fit the height adjustment frame?
For example im in Australia and I was thinking of ordering the bottom frame from the American drivers side and retro fitting it in my car to have the height adjustment.

Has anyone figured out a way to get the passenger seat to be lowered yet ?
Its embarrassing when you have a passenger that is tall and they hit their head on the roof
I have access to a full machine shop and I'm willing to modify my seat frame if reasonable anyone know it will work for sure.

This is a rookie mistake for the engineers at Toyota. They need to fix this and the floor mounted pedal ASAP

Any ideas would be appreciated
I wish I knew these couldnt be adjusted before. I wouldnt have bought it. So sad

I just sat in the passenger seat of my 2023 RAV4 Hybrid XLE with the moonroof. With the seat all the way back and the seat back reclined a minimum amount I have 3"-4" from the top of my head to the headliner. I'm 5'11" and can't see how someone shorter would be hitting the headliner. The only complaint I got about the passenger seat was that the seat was too high. Of course the complaint was from a friend that at the most is 5'2".

Sure it would be nice if the passenger seat was height adjustable. But the lack of that feature would not have changed my mind on buying the RAV4.

The official Toyota spec sheet shows both gas Limited and Hybrid Limited trims having a 8-way driver's seat adjustment and 4-way passenger seat adjustment. Does that mean one of the 4-way adjustments is for height?

OK, I just went out & took some measurements.
Our Limited's passenger seat has the 4 way power seat.

1. Fore & aft 8.5" total

2. Tilt front of seat up & down 1" total rise

3. Seat up & down (also pivots forward at same time) rear edge of seat 3" total rise
Front edge of seat 1" total rise

4. Tilt back Approximately 20" total fore & aft.

I also checked both the driver's seat and the passenger seat height @ lowest & highest settings measured @ the leading edge of both seats. Measurements taken from floor in front of both seats.

Driver seat in lowest setting 13" Highest setting 14"

Passenger seat in lowest setting 12" Highest setting 14"

So based on the above information you provided, if you have a Limited trim, either Hybrid or gas and you have the 4-way power passenger seat you actually CAN raise or lower your seat.

We are not buying a 2024 RAV4 simply because of that passenger seat. It's absurdly high. I'm 5-10 and I almost was hitting my head on the roof. Looking at the C-RV instead. Much more comfy for the passenger.
We looked at the CRV. It's probably not a bad car as Honda sells an awful lot of them but I could not get over that tiny Toro Lawn mower size engine with the big turbo. Also I am not 100% convinced that the oil dilution problem that plagued that engine has been completely fixed.

Would someone please run me by what each of the counts are for a 4 way vs an 8 way seat?
To me a 4 way is....move seat forward and backward, thats 2 ways.... move seat back to tilt forward and backward....thats 2 more ways....so that, to me is a 4 way.....
So what is an 8 way ????? Would someone please run each way to make the 8 way positions?
