Hi,

I'm new here and wanted to say hello to everyone.

I have a concern and I was wondering if anyone here had the same problem?
The Michelin crossclimate SUV are making repeatable noise like when you have a screw in the tire but the pitch is like you stump you boot on hard surface.
I have no steering wheel shaking, car is not running away left or right and the noise is speed dependent.
At speeds above 90km/h it's inaudible.

Toyota dealer said it's the tread pattern.
Company that sold them to me said it might be suspension or other things but to rule that out I will be going to them and changing the tires for old summer tires just for testing.

Anyone had similar issues?

Cheers!

No problems here with my crossclimate 2s. I have about 10000 kms on then with no noise issues.

It is the tires, at least in my case. I am having this issue with my Nokian WRG3 all weather tires for almost a year now. I tried everything, dealership, tire shop, roration, even remounted the tires. Remounting helped lowering the noise a bit, but still using the tires. I posted in this forum last year regarding this, link is provided below-

I have a 2017 RAV4 and replaced the factory tires with Michelin Cross Climate +2 tires. I immediately noticed a drop in my mileage by about 2 mpg. Then later a rumbling noise like a bearing going bad when driving, especially when slowing down. I had the alignment checked and now at 42,000 miles on the tires I find the tires have severe wear and cupping on the inside tire tread. Can't wait to replace them.

@Toyota lover at 42k miles, you may have heal and toe wear due to the directional tread design. Unfortunately you can not cross rotate the tires to promote even tread wear. They must stay on the mounted side of the vehicle. It would cause a rumble sound. A non directional tire may be a better option for your vehicle.

I have 42,000 miles on my cross climate 2 tires that are installed on a 2018 Honda CRV. The tires were great at first, although I did notice a reduction in fuel economy. I keep my car in excellent condition and my dealership does a thorough inspection each oil change. I’ve never had a problem with alignment balancing and have kept suspension parts up-to-date on inspection. My tires also show cupping. I purchased these tires a year and a half ago. I hate to think that I’ve got to buy new set of tires now discount tire offered me a discount on a new set but it’s still gonna cost $900. I’m not happy!
