I believe these repairs had an effect on the rear tow (either due to manufacture's fault or body shop) because now both my rear tires are severely worn out from the inside.
If you search for alignment on this forum, you will realize that your accident did not causes misalignments.
Most modern Toyota vehicles have the same none-adjustable (actually is the shops not wanting to spend more time doing the job right) alignment issues due to their vehicle design.

Some of the mechanics here have recommended overinflate tires by 3-4 psi to decrease the inner tire wear.

If you're going to do it, do it now because used cars, expecially Toyotas and Hondas, and especially late model in that price point, are still drawing a nice premium. That accident will affect the value for sure but it will be forgiven more now where it probably won't be when things return to "normal" (whatever and whenever THAT is going to be!).

Did you try Carvana? They've been known to pay stupid money at times. I sold them two cars for prices that would drop your jaw. They nearly went bankrupt though and I'm sure that practice was part of the reason but they seemed to have bounced back some so it's worth a try. It only takes a couple of minutes. You can do the same with Vroom and Carmax too but whenever I did those they weren't even close to Carvana most of the time.

Hello everyone!

I am thinking of trade in my 2020 RAV4 XLE FWD for 2021/2022 RAV4 XLE/XSE. It has only 20,000 miles on it. I have checked KBB values and it is around $25,000. However, my pay off for Toyota finance is still at $19,000. Would you recommend going for a trade in now. If I do so, how does the remaining balance of the current loan affect? I much appreciate your thoughts and ideas.

Thanks,

SD
for me...
i would do new.
but that is just me.
sure you loose a few thou just driving it home.
but you would know what you have...

buying used i always tell my clients to set back $5k to $10k to fix up a used car or truck to what you want or need.
think tires at 200 to 400 each.
and any other things that can be hidden.
as well as other upgrades like hitch, lights, stereo for starters.

if you order in a new car or truck you can build it to your needs from the factory unless you get lucky and find the exact options on a dealer lot..
but wait there is a catch on buying off the lot.
how long did it sit on the lot?
look at the brake rotors is always a good thing.
and if it has any test drive miles on it.
some one could to have been out for a JOY ride in it...

take your time when buying a car or truck.
and make sure you can afford it!

I know you are not the only one but; you want a fresh start ( i get that) and someone else will end up (unknowingly) driving your repaired damaged car with an allignment issues. Who will then end up on this forum because his new to him car has issues…
I know, no one can or should stop you from trading in your car, but I have mixed feeling about this. The fact that you did not mention the damage in your original post tells me you will not mention it to the next buyer either.
