My 2011 Rav 4 tire pressure light is flashing inside my car. It got cold (below 32) and the light came on with no flashing. I put air in the tires and it went off, but a few days later the light came back on and now flashes for one minute before going solid light each time I start the car. talked to Toyota dealership and they said it is likely a bad sensor. I got an appointment with my local mechanic as was going to install new tires anyways, so he is going to check the sensors. Anyone had this issue and how did you resolve it. Any information appreciated.

This is a common issue. The TPMS light comes on solid when the air pressure is low. When it blinks before going solid means there is something wrong with the system. It could be that one or more of the sensors have low battery or dead/faulty. It usually requires a TPMS tool or higher level scanner to diagnose the issue and then clear the TPMS trouble codes in the TPMS system.

Yep, flashing and then going solid indicates the TPMS receiver isn't getting a signal from at least one sensor. I'm just surprised it's happening on a 2011. Just happened to our 2006 last summer. I had all five replaced at Town Fair tire for $180. They said only one had failed but figuring the others may be dying soon I had all five replaced.

Our 2011 started doing the same thing earlier this year. Pretty sure it’s a dead sensor battery. I just disabled the warning light. I’ve driven for 50+ years without TPMS, and sure as hell not going to spend $250 (local prices here in SoCal) to swap them all, especially since I had just replaced the tires a few weeks before this happened.
