According to this article, Toyota is phasing out "Prime" for "PHEV" in the US in 2025 to reduce market confusion and be more consistent between regions/markets:
Fev? Pee Hev? Fevee? Feevee? They should have renamed the RAV4 Prime into BZ4X PHEV. That would take care of any confusion once and forever.
BTW, how many people know how to correctly pronounce PHEV.
No, BZ4X is an entirely different vehicle with a separate shape and architecture. They should have renamed the RAV4 Prime into BZ4X PHEV. That would take care of any confusion once and forever.

That's exactly right. The word prime has been used for centuries, and its I-M-E letter sequence is spelled and pronounces in the same way as in dime, lime, time, mime, etc.Prime is easier to say & shorter to spell. It's been in the Toyota lineup since 2017 (Prius Prime) so it's not like it's foreign to anyone...
The point is that Toyota has had a compact, easy-to-pronounce, easy-to-spell, easily recognizable name that became associated with the reputable Toyota vehicles on the US market, and now they are dumping it so they can start using a generic abbreviation that most people won't recognize or know how to spell. No, BZ4X is an entirely different vehicle with a separate shape and architecture.

It's a little bit like Coca-Cola would toss the word "Coke" and replace it with "BRCAD" (BRown CArbonated Drink).
Busy Forks is a horrible name. They should have renamed the RAV4 Prime into BZ4X PHEV. That would take care of any confusion once and forever.

We should know more once the models hit the build page on the Toyota webpage, which with the 5th Gen RAV4 is typically October/November.Any other changes known yet, besides the name?
