Need Christmas ideas to give the wife!
If it's a gas model XLE get a cheap plug in voltmeter from Amazon so you can keep track of the alternator charging and battery condition. I like the Jebsons best because it reads to hundredths of a volt but the Palumma is also very good. The little rubber placemats that fit in the cabin cubby holes are a must have item and Amazon has a ton of these from many suppliers. Cabin cargo compartment nets are also a must have item to keep groceries and stuff from sliding around. You can upgrade the cabin air filter from the OEM plain paper one to an improved carbon impregnated one--lots of brands cheap on Amazon. I would be remiss if I did NOT warn a new owner to IMMEDIATELY install a gutter guard type screen or one of the fancy professionally made screens to the A/C condenser grill on the nose of the RAV4. Use the search bar and read the threads. That condenser gets holed by rocks and road debris frequently and costs thousands to replace.

Do you have to take off anything to install the gutter guard screen?

For the top grille, you have to remove the plastic cover above the bumper cover. To do that , you must remove the hood latch and several push pins that mount the cover.

For the bottom grille, some claim you can get to it by removing the plastic panels below the bumper cover, but I was never able to do that. Thus, many people put the screen in front of the lower grille, rather than behind.

Of course, you can remove the whole bumper cover which is not really that hard: 2019 Toyota RAV4 front bumper removal - YouTube

NO! You just use some zip ties to attach either plastic or metal gutter guard which you cut to fit on the front of the A/C lower grill. There are lots of threads about it in this forum. Last photo is the professionally made grill guard you can order.

All those photos show the mesh on the bottom grille. Personally, I don't like the looks with them on the outside.

For the top grille, most people put the mesh on the inside and the instructions I gave above apply.

If you are careful and do a neat job with the zip ties, the gutter guard on the outside of the A/C lower grill gives the RAV4 a jaunty, racing look like the World Championship Rally Cars that use similar protective rock screens.

Brand new Rav4 owner (XLE). Looking for cool suggestions for add-ons you've added to the interior of your Rav4.
Get some door sill protectors. Cheap and lots of different kinds on Amazon. Keeps the paint from being scratched and then rusting.

I like the Maxpider mats and these latch and hinge covers.

What mats or solution suggested to keep carpet clean near the accelerator and brake pedals?

Have all weather mats but not fully cover all carpet near the pedals. Thought about that sticky film/tape used by movers to protect carpets but looks ghetto.

Don't want to put anything that obstructs the pedals so thought just clean that area of the carpet 2-3 times a year but hey if any other solutions please post.

Weather Tech has two coverage mats for the RAV4. I got the smaller ones, and they cover just fine. I got them in tan to match the Caramel RAV4 interior:

Tuxmat (under name of Phantom if bought at Costco online ordering to save some money) are the best mats I have ever owned. Had Weathertechs for about 20+ years and tried Husky and they were flimsy(raised sides would bend inward and stay that way).

These mats cover all the carpeting. And covers the full height of dead pedal which the other brands stopped doing so moisture from top half of bottom of shoes/boots drip down behind the mat and rust your floor under carpet at base of dead pedal.

There are a specific ones for ICE and ones for hybrids.

ALSO change horn to PIAA 85115 Superior Bass horn. 330 and 400 MHz tones. They are a lower tone than the Hellas. I do not buy the disc type horns that are metal because they rust in short order so the painted colour only look nice for a short time. The other style such as the PIAA Superior Bass horn is a plastic trumpet style horn. The price in the Amazon image is in Canadian dollars. US prices will be cheaper. Very easy instal.
