I already check the cap, the battery and disconnected the battery about 10 minutes so ill go back and wait one hour
Also, go to a car parts store like Autozone and get them to test your battery--they do it free. They will also scan for DTCs (trouble codes) free and that will tell you what the mechanical problem is.

my car didn't turn on and gave me that same issue code.
Sound's like a dead battery. The OEM 12V batteries in gas model 5th gen RAV4s are only lasting around 3 to 5 years. If you live in a hot place (S.Calif, Az., Tex) and have never checked the cells they may be low on electrolyte and the lead plates are exposed and sulfated.

I'm having my husband check on it. I saw a few videos saying the unplugged/charged the battery and it worked. Hopefully that does the trick. Thank you

If you remember DTC number then post it here.
Toyota dealer wants to do a smoke test at 200.00 on top of the 100.00 that I paid them to put on the computer. They didn’t find anything on the computer test.
I guess they found NO DTCs. Don't you think it sounds like her problem is the battery? Same thing happens frequently on our 5th gens.

I explained to myself OP reply like:
1. DTC was cleared by first shop,
2. "computer test" - using bidirectional scanner perform some active test during troubleshooting.

like 2 years ago I was getting the Awd malfunction warning on my dash. But didn’t have the money to get it fixed so i kept driving it. Still drives just fine currently but I have no awd and the notification stopped flashing on my dash about 6 months after it started. It’s a 2020 rav 4 xle. I can click “snow mode” and eco” but the rest of the off road option buttons don’t work and my snow mode even tho it shows on Isn’t making my car awd.

Yes, my car also drives fine.
Car parts stores like Autozone and O'Reilly's will do a FREE scan for DTCs. If they have a good, more expensive scan tool it will give you the DTC codes that will tell what is wrong with your cars. Write down the DTC codes #s and TELL US! We can then give you better help and advice. Also get your batteries and alternators tested FREE at the car parts stores. Quite often weak and malfunctioning batteries can cause the AWD and CC not to work. Even if your cars start OK, if the battery resting volts are low it can cause all manner of issues.

Today, I called back to the Toyota dealership that put my car on the computer last week and they informed me that the code was P5406.
No other codes showed up according to them. This is why they recommended the smoke test. I feel like I’m back to square one.

OK!! DTC P5406 is a small leak in the Evaporative Emissions System (EVAP). It is a VERY hard thing to find where the leak is. I think you said before you replaced the gas cap. I hope you bought a NEW one at the DEALER. That's a common source of the EVAP leak. If you bought the cap at a parts store it might be a no good, Chinese fake that is still leaking. NOW that there is the P5406 DTC I think you MUST get the "smoke test" at the dealer. It is the ONLY way to find the leak. They pump a colored, florescent gas into the fuel tank. It will escape at any leak--even a tiny pinhole. They then use a UV lamp to see the colored staining where the leak is. It could be anywhere...charcoal canister, purge valve, rubber hoses under car or in engine compartment, filler neck. Depending on where the leak is, fixing it could turn expensive.

I got a Check Engine light and the AWD system malfunction alert message. Checked the gas cap; fine. Checked tire pressure; fine. Checked the oil; fine. Took it to the garage and learned that rodents had chewed through the wiring at the intake manifold. They put some pepper / capsaicin flavored tape on the wires, which hopefully the rodents won't like. I'm parking the car in the garage, not the drive, from now on.
