What are the best wiper blades in late 2024?

The GFs RAV is in need of some new blades and it has been a while since I have had to buy some. Last time I bought new wiper blades Bosch was the best but I have heard mumblings since then that Bosch's quality has declined a bit.

So what is the recommended brand now?

Bosch blades are still good. I'd just go to the autoparts store, or Walmart (they have a good selection), look up the length, and buy the mid range to higher priced one. Most blades these days are the 'beam' style, they typically work better than the multi arc spring type, but something they have trouble conforming to the edge portion of the windshield as it has more curvature,

I much prefer beam style blades to the conventional style. I find beams perform far better in ice and snow as they don't get caught up inside the conventional style arches and then freeze, preventing the blades from arching.

I've been using Trico Force blades for several years with good all-year performance. And they're quite affordable on Amazon.

There are no best anything. Wipers are grossly overpriced. I use silicone beam wipers up front, and if/when available, the dealer sourced rear or Trico equivalent replacement.

I also won't believe or even care for 'tests' from online sources. A sucker is born every minute and too much internet content is AI or just fanboi produced. Rarely do you get a review/test from someone running a wiper for a year or 2 for comparison.

I miss Tripledge wipers, even though many wipers now have 'sidewall edges' that do the same!

No issues with Bosch Icon... but I don't think that they are silicone.

I usually just get the silicone Michelin Endurance XT or Rain-X Endura beam blades from Walmart.

You can get a pair of generic silicone blades off ebay/amazon for about the price of 1 from walmart/carquest/advanceauto/autozone/napa/oreillys... Generics can be hit/miss so read the reviews. If none, you're the guinea pig.

I'm lucky if ANY brand/type lasts a year in the dust/weather around here, hence why I just go to walmart or sams club.

Prior to installing your new wipers, scrub your windshield clean with the ol' vinegar/water mix or ammonia glass cleaners. I'd wager most wiper issues are caused by stuff/bugs/waxes/.... from car washes and washer fluid additives.
I'm still a rain-x/aquapel user to reduce the usage of wipers as much as possible, especially when on the highway.
