With the lights on, press the tripmeter button on the display toggling between odometer, trip A and B and you should see one that looks like a triangle. When you see that, hold the tripmeter button and it will cycle through the brightness.
Two things:
1. Lower the instrument intensity knob just below the top setting. That knob is on the dash switch panel to the left of the steering wheel.
2. The is a radio setting for "night mode". That may be turned off.
