I bought a 2024 RAV4 Prime XSE 3 weeks ago. So far, I like the car but am just beginning to get acquainted with all the features. It was sold as a used car as it was a lease return with only 758 miles on it and it did not come with a hard copy of the user manual. I have been using the online version but I'm old school and would like to have a hard copy. My Honda CR-V came without one but you could send for one no cost. Can someone tell me if the user manual normally comes with the car or if it is a send for option then where do I send for it. I tried the dealer but got the run around and a search on this forum didn't prove productive. Thank you in advance to anyone taking the time to respond.

I have a hard copy version of the Rav4 Prime manuals that came with the car (Also a 2024 Primx XSE).

I'm currently leasing it, but will probably switch to buying outright.

There are a number of manuals that come with the car, including:
-Owners Manual
-Multimedia Manual
-Quick Reference
-Multimedia Getting Started
-Warranty and Maintenance Guide

This is what came with my 2022. Not sure if it is different for the 2024. As you have found these manuals are all available online. I downloaded the manuals to my computer. I find it easier to find things by searching for keywords on the computer since the organization of the manual does not seem to make it easy to find some information.

I agree, I find searching the pdf on my machine is far easier and quicker than trying to look anything up in the paper books.

pdfs are handy, but there is also a lot to be said for having the paper manuals.

I would think (?) that the replacement costs would not be too high if you just ordered directly from toyota (vs using ebay).

1. Owners manuals come with all Toyotas. The previous owner probably removed it.
2. You can buy used manuals on Ebay. Just be aware that the Prime owners manual is different than the for the ICE or hybrid manual, so be sure to get the right one. The used ones on Ebay are usually in excellent condition and come from rental cars (rental car companies tend to take the owners manuals out).
3. You can buy new, printed owners manuals from Helm Inc. Helm Inc-Your Source for Factory Authorized Service Information but they are rather pricey. I just checked their web site, and they 2024 Prime owners manual for $50, but is out of stock at the present time.

What a TERRIBLE dealer. They should supply you with the manuals. ASK THEM! If they refuse escalate to Toyota customer care. These cars have so many things that the manual explains. The dealer really should provide you with the manuals. They are being lazy and cheap! Name the dealer either way so we can know if they are an upstanding dealer or not.

I second that. If you raise a stink there is a good chance they will order and give you one.

since this is a used vehicle sale I'm not sure why there would be an expectation of a manual being present or why it would necessarily be on the dealer to provide one. sure, it would be nice but this isn't a brand new vehicle.

With a car with this much technology I think the dealer should, as a good business practice, give you the vehicle manuals. It is easier for the dealer to order hard copies than an individual. I have always left the manuals in the vehicle when trading in or selling a vehicle.

It would get added to the price of the vehicle.
