eco mode question

I just read some posts about "sport mode" that was posted and discussed yesterday. One person mentioned in the summer when driving in "eco mode" the a/c does not function at it,s maximum potential.
Question= we always drive in "eco mode". I have noticed in the winter it takes a long time to get warm air from the dash. Is it possible the heater is affected in "eco mode"? I will be experimenting soon and will post the results.

You will see that when in ECO mode the climate control button for "Eco" is lit. You can press that button and turn it off either in the Summer (using A/C) or winter (heater.) In my gas '21 XLE AWD that DOES make a difference--the fan speed often goes up.

I think it does. I never had a thermometer in one hand and a stop watch in the other to check it though! Here is what my 2021 Owners manual says: The "Eco" button on the climate control can change the fan speed when A/C is on. If you use the Auto function in the winter with the heater on, the A/C will also be on and its button lit because the A/C acts as a DE-HUMIDIFIER. So if you press and turn off the "Eco" button on the climate control it should work better and faster with the heater because the fan speed goes up.

raising fan speed does not raise temperature... more air... not more heat... but the key may be no AC dehumidifying the air, because that action cools the air and needs more heat that just outside air..

we have a cold snap in San Diego, turning ECO off does not get me to work warmer, 4 miles... with the anemic heated seats, it's a dissapointment

Without the de-humidifying A/C on in the winter in rainy Oregon my windows WILL fog up. You have a Prime so you have a different heating system (like the hybrids also) than gas model Ravs, because in the Prime and Hybrids the ICE is not on all the time. The gas model heater gets its hot engine coolant as soon as the ICE starts to warm from a cold start...usually within 3 to 5 minutes as soon as the temperature needle hits the first mark.

There are 2 "Eco" mods. One for the throttle response and the other for HVAC. Which one are you talking about?

Yep, eco mode does slow down the heater. It's all about saving energy, but that means the car holds back on the HVAC, so you’ll notice it takes longer to warm up. It’s kinda annoying, especially in the winter. Definitely try turning off eco mode and see if it makes a difference, I'm betting it will.

I use ECO driving mode, but have the ECO mode selected on the HVAC. Even in the hottest weather (112 degrees in Page, AZ), the HVAC has always worked well and kept me comfortable.
