For those who did the recall, do they include loaner car for free when you leave the car there for fixing the paint?
Hi! I know this is a few months late so I hope this may still be of some use to you! I have a 2015 RAV4 Limited with Blizzard Pearl color, and it wasn't until a few months ago that the top of my car paint started chipping and now a huge piece is exposed down to the metal. I went to my regular mechanic to ask for a quote and haven't taken action on it yet. It wasn't until last night that I found someone on another forum posted information on the paint repair program. I was super shocked as this was the first time I've ever heard of this and had never received any notice from Toyota about it. Even searching the NHTSA's website for recalls for my car doesn't show the paint program. It wasn't until I was able to call Toyota's Brand Engagement Center today that they confirmed to me that the secondary coverage for the "Customer Support Program ZKG" is still valid until February 14th, 2025! I called my local dealership and now have an appointment for inspection. They told me to anticipate a 4-6 week waiting period while they submit information of my claim for the warranty, and then I can expect to bring it in for work. I would highly recommend calling Toyota to confirm that your car fits the model and year that applies for the program, and then calling a different dealership if so because they lied to you! The notice I downloaded from Toyota states that involves coverage for cars under the specific model/years listed that are painted with Blizzard Pearl (070) or Super White (040) paint color. For me, my car falls under the "2008-2017 RAV 4: Early 2008 - Early September 2017) requisit that is listed in the table on the document. All costs should be free, and I believe that they will also provide a certain limited daily budget for a rental while your car is being worked on as well. I was told by the engagement center that not all dealerships do work for the paint program and that I should call another one if I encounter a dealership that states they can't help me (and also that they would be willing to work with the dealership as well in case the dealership had questions or wasn't aware of the program).I have an older Rav 4. The paint started peeling at the beginning of January. It seemed very odd because the peeling was significant.
After researching the issue, I found out there was a recall in 2019.I called Toyota and they said that 2 notices were sent. I absolutely did not receive them. They also said the recall period for the issue to be fixed was expired. So far, no resolve.
The peeling has significantly reduced the trade in value.
So now I have to decide to spend the $3,000+ to get the car painted or take the hit and trade it in for the reduced value due to the peeling.
Any assistance or advice would be appreciated.
I have a Toyota RAV4 2015 and the paint is peeling everywhere. Toyota has refused to help since there is no recall yet and not enough people have called in to make it get on there radar. I have the same car and year. I have the Super White color that is covered under the special warranty Toyota created for the paint peeling problem. I also received the letters from Toyota about this a couple of years ago, but I didn't think I needed it since I didn't have a problem until recently. I didn't remember the letters until I looked back at my papers. So maybe your color is not covered?I have a Toyota RAV4 2015 and the paint is peeling everywhere. I have a 2014 RAV4 with pearl white paint. It is peeling significantly on the roof!! As well as small spots elsewhere. I called Toyota Engagement Center after reading your post. They confirmed the notices went to the original owner and I never received them! Even though I owned the car when the letters were sent. They did not know anything about the extended date of 2/14/25. The just stated the case was closed and it would be the owner’s expense for repairs. Who did you talk to to get that extension date?Hi!
