Heya everyone, I'm hoping to connect with everyone who's installed an Android head unit for their RAV4.

I bought a head unit from Ainavi. The X6 model from AliExpress. Everything installed and worked great for 2 weeks. Around that time I got several advanced safety features disabled warnings come up.
At this point I didn't believe my head unit created the issue. I checked with my code reader. I got a C14FE14 DTC (steering angle sensor voltage circuit short to ground or open) it showed up under the ABS and AWD ECUs when scanned. The other was a "lost connection with navigation control module" (I don't have the actual code at the moment). I also received a DTC for the water pump coolant level is low. It's not by visual inspection.

One other thing has stopped working, my entry features includes fob and lighting are not functioning. I believe it's the vehicle side that's not functioning. I have a new battery in the fob and I'm still able to start and drive it. Seems like almost all features that used to work when engine is off are no longer functioning or receiving power. All fuses are good.

So my question is, who's dealt with this kind of problem? What causes the head unit to not power on when I start my Rav?

I must also mention,
I succeeded in jumping a keyed 12v power to the aftermarket harness for the head unit. It allowed to power on the unit when I start up and works well while engine is on. It also stopped the instrument panel messages. Codes are still stored tho. So I'm really confused as to how and why that occurred.

Sorry for a long, and possibly unorganized, explanation.

I would love to hear from all of you as what is creating this electrical gremlin.
I know It's easy to say the head unit. But I would love to understand the how and what in greater detail. I want to keep this head unit. I haven't found anyone else dealing with this or these issues.

Thank you everyone I appreciate you 🙏
