I like the look. Do you need to install it in the back of the grill?
No, but it is ugly if you put it in front. It is easy to put on the back of the top grill. It is impossible to put it on the back of the bottom grill without removing the front bumper cover.

What grill is it?
They sold out so it is no longer available. But this thread tells about it:

Yes it is. Coolant will leak everywhere and cause environmental concerns and the air conditioner affects a lot more components of your vehicle causing defrosting issues.
sigh

Take a step back and think about this...

It is not a safety issue. Yes this stuff happens. But it happens in most vehicles.
I am not sure on your solution to this? Vehicles have a condenser as well as a radiator in the front and are all in the same boat on your concern.

I am sure 'someone' with a 914-6 will have a say.;).

Yes, my 914-6 does not have a coolant radiator, nor an A/C condenser, so leaks in those are not possible. But it does have an oil cooler that looks like a condenser, but never had a leak in it.

What I do have to say is: The sky is not falling.

Edit: One of Shakespeare's plays is titled "Much ado about nothing".

If the mesh gets clogged with leaves or other debris, it can restrict air flow, so keep it clean and you will be OK.

That appears to only be for the lower grille. The RAV4 has an upper and lower grille; most of the air goes through the upper grille because it is bigger. Also, many 5th generation RAV4s have a "active grille shutter" that closes off the lower grille anyway. Edit: you need a screen on the upper grille as well.

No impact on warranty.

that link is ok to understand the concept..

want to be sure of how RAV4 actually operates, any Toyota links?
Google search will find lots of info on the grill shutters, including this one:

got my answer: it depends ... ha ha..

"check your manual"... I will, but surely it will be "lots of factors"...

anyway, looks like they don't cover the full area... will look in techstream, but nothing simple, like a "gravel protect mode"
