After 4 years in Connecticut my family and I moved back to the Netherlands. Our Rav4 also made it accross.

Over here the FM reception is terrible. This is because in the US, FM frequencies of e.g. 98.1 - 98.3 - 98.5 MHz are in use, while in Europe all increments of 0.1 MHz (98.1 - 98.2 - 98.3 - 98.4 MHz etc.) are available.

On the web I've found out that most car radio's have hidden menu's in which regional settings can be changed. For the radio in our RAV4 ( Toyota 16884) I haven't been able to find any info

Can anyone help me with this?

HvD,

Do not have a solution, but am in the same boat as you, I am in Germany with a US spec RAV. Have you contacted a Toyota Dealer either here or in the US? Maybe they would have an answer.

Hi,
Yes, I contacted a local dealer in my town in Holland, my old US dealer, Toyota Tech support and finally Fujitsu Ten, the manufacturer of the radio.

From Fujitsu Ten I received the comment that this radio was particularly made for the US market and that there is no way to change the tuner settings.

Buy a new radio or live with the problem seem to be the two options
