here's a dyno chart from one of the earlier iterations:

the guy running the dyno applied a -5% correction on that chart for some reason so the peak was actually 291RWHP (or 340HP at the flywheel). the drag time backs that up. but even if you don't believe that, 277 is still high.

if someone is near Fort Wayne, IN. i'd love to do the install for them and we can get a before/after on the same dyno.
277 is a solid number for sure. I wonder if the operator was applying an SAE net correction, given the temp and humidity that day. Your 291 would have been a gross calculation. Still not bad at all for a set of headers on a stock engine.

You are three hours from me and that offer is tempting, but I promised wifey that I would leave the RAV stock.

yeah, the SAE correction is what he thought he was applying, but it doesn't really matter. 277 or 291 is just a number. 1.7second 60' time feels like you're in the space shuttle on takeoff :) and that's the part that puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

as for temptation, don't worry... if this is the rav4 in your signature "08 RAV4 Limited AWD V6" it won't fit anyways, the AWD system forces the rear exhaust header to be completely different and the design i made does not fit. I'm sorry.

Damn! I honestly can not say you would have a solid market if you did make a set for the AWD application but I can honestly say that I'd be getting me a set if you did make them. Gawd....I'm jealoous! I want extra power. It's right there, just out of reach.

Gouky,

Your posts are painful. . . That is, I've got an AWD 2009 V6 RAV4 and I would love a set of headers.

Any possibility of making a set??? I'm sure there are several of us who would buy them. Perhaps we could get a group buy set up and then you could have a guaranteed sale set up to make it worth your while. Seriously. Would love a set. No finish, I'll ceramic coat them when they arrive at my door.

Did you ever get in touch with him?

In addition, I posted in the lotustalk forum back in July 2010 (Yeah, I forgot I did), inquiring about a Kold Fire Header for our cars. Here is the thread -->Kold-Fire / Komo-Tec Evora 300 upgrade - LotusTalk - The Lotus Cars Community
And a pic of the header-->

I don't have the energy to persue this direction but if you are interested, it maybe another option.

The headers are still available, I spoke with Marc recently. But you will need to have a custom y pipe fabricated to mate up with the header outlets. There is an available aftermarket y pipe that will mate up with Gouky's headers but they are designed for the MR2 application so you will need to modify the piping after the merge on that as well. And it is around $700 for the y pipe.
I'm still debating on what I want to do but I will be getting either a y pipe or the header and y pipe before the year is up.

$700 for the 'Y' pipe? Sheesh!

I know lol. Even stock the throttle is a bit jumpy so I don't don't how you get any traction with mods and a SC from a dead stop lol. The MKC ypipe is just under $600 with a smaller outlet. When there's little market, it's more expensive to play.
