I needed a vehicle with a high clearance. Rav4s are great - couldn't afford a new one, couldn't afford a second hand one in "good condition" - couldn't afford "good condition" and an expensive repair. So, I found this one cheap: Excellent body, suspension and electrics, but the engine was in a very bad way (and the gearbox too). 5th gear synchro went a few months later... we have the technology, we can rebuild him - rebuild engine, rebuild gearbox - new car performance and reliability at less the second hand price. And power windows for the dogs! There is nothing precious about this car and it goes like a rocket.
