Sorry if this topic has been covered here. (Newbie)

My 2004 Rav4 has 252,000 miles and is ready for its first end-to-end exhaust system (plus CAT) replacement.

Problem is that I'm living on social Social Security and a few fumes. The Rav is literally still perfect. But, I need a plan to get this done the least expensive (but proper) way using my mechanic.

I'd dearly appreciate any information and/or resources for this job.
Are there any known sources for used (from wrecks) full systems ?

If I must buy new-manufacture (other than OEM) what are the best and most cost effective places to look?

What should parts for such a job cost?

(Labor will be done by the genius mechanic who has kept this car in pristine mechanical shape for 13 years).

Many thanks for any thoughts.

Unless you already have the parts, here's a couple places.
ROCKAUTO.COM
Shrewdly pour over wrecking yards for low mileage vehicles.

Either way the CAT will be expensive (hence the high car thefts).
READ UP on china made CATs, I hear many do not last long, poor materials.

Shame you don't have a #2-Gen KIA Sportage, I have for sale CHEAP, the Muff & Tail pipe. :|
