I still have not received my new Rav 4. It was delivered to port in California on 11/25 and still has not been processed. The dealer does not know what the delay in processing is so it could be delivered to dealer. Still waiting and getting tired of the lack of any processing and delivery 😡. A Mazda sales person said that Toyota is only giving 1 key fob on the new vehicles sold. If that is true we are paying allot more fur the vehicle including dealer mark up and getting less..only 1 key fob. Just checking in to see if that’s the new norm when buying a new Toyota 🫢
Just picked up my Rav4 Hybrid this past Thursday. Only 1 key fob, but we will get the 2nd when more chips are available. Just no date as of yet. My car was in port for about 10 days. There were 15 cars for dealer, 3 were released, I was lucky my vehicle was one of them. The other were held for security searches, there were no clear dates for the release of these cars. My dealer was fabulous, no dealer markups, I paid MSRP sticker price.

The dealer says he ran the VIN of my vehicle and confirmed that 8990H-0R200 is the fob for my 2023 RAV4 Hybrid XLE.
So unless the dealer VIN->part database is in error (unlikely), Toyota may be doing things differently for the 2023s.
Just confirmed this 8990H-0R200 part number via another dealer. I also found that the dealer I just purchased the car from would not give me the part number, I guess many dealers do not give them out so people will be forced to purchase the part from them rather than shopping around?

I found one online for $134 shipped. The dealer checked and the correct one is 8990H-42690 for my vin which begins with a J from Japan. 23 XLE Premium Hybrid.

I would not take any posted part number on here as correct. Have the dealer run the vin.

In case it is of help to others, I can summarize my experience.
Bought 2 fobs, initially guessing part # based on the numbers on my original fob and part numbers listed on this forum.
1 on Ebay: $70.
1 via parts dot toyota dot com: $134.
Shop around on that website as the same part ranges from list ($194) to $134 at different dealers.
Once I found a dealer with a good price, I asked them to run my VIN to confirm correct part. Not all dealers will respond.
There are 3 or more different fob part numbers for 2023 RAV4s and the info is not yet accessible via the website lookup.
The 2 fobs from the different sources looked identical (lettering on the back etc.).
$92 at my local dealer to try to program both.
The Ebay fob did not program, the one from toyota dot com did. So it is worth the extra $$ and it is necessary to have your VIN run by the seller.

The one I got from the online Toyota dealer for $134 was programmed today for $100 and they even changed my blinker from 3-5 flashes. I travel long distances and having a 2nd fob is mission critical...too much lost time and money for tow to wait possibly months for a 2nd.

It’s kind of a BS move on Toyotas part. If it’s a supply chain issue, they should give a 2nd key fob when they’re available. I don’t use my 2nd key fob, they’re always brand new when I trade in. But still, BS move.

With that being said, I wouldn’t let a key fob be the deciding factor when deciding between the Mazda and Toyota. The Mazda may not be missing the 2nd key fob, but it is missing a hybrid powertrain.

Choose the Mazda because you’re scared of the hybrid connector problem, or you like the way it looks / drives vs the RAV4.
They send you the second fob after a couple of weeks wait. You basically get an IOU.

I got my Prime last week and it came with two fobs. My dealer said it's only car they had received in the past weeks, that came with two fobs. Weird how that happened.
I purchased my 2022 RAV4 a few months ago and was given 1 key FOB. The dealer gave me a letter from Toyota stating that 2nd key FOB will be provided once they get through their supply chain issue.
Same as everyone else here. Got my Prime yesterday with one key fob and a "We Promise" note to send me the second one as soon as it's available. However, I was told I may need to take it to my local dealer to get it programmed.

Got my hybrid limited 2 weeks ago and got 2 fobs (I wasn't going to leave w/o 2).

The ONLY minor thing is that the fobs don't have a blue outline around the logo as most hybrids do. Doesn't make a ton of sense given there's no plastic shortage.
And doesn't matter to me since I use silicone covers for both fobs.
