1998 OEM Roof Rack wanted

Currently can only find one listing for a genuine OEM roof rack set for my 1998 Rav4. I’m seriously tempted as I would like the original. But I’d be looking at over $350 CAD not including shipping. Just need an opinion, is it worth it? Or should I just get a universal/make my own? My only way to justify the purchase is that it may only go up in value and I intend on getting another Rav of the same year when my current one goes.

Are you wanting the racks for their looks, or do you have a specific plan for using them?

Honestly don’t even love the look that much, but I love how they are the original meant for the car. And possibly an investment. I think it’d be cool because they’re rare

i have been looking as well
the oem bars for the 2000 looks boxy, junky or like an after thought.
but if i had the hardware i bet it could be reworked for the modern aero extruded designs.

i just need a place to haul conduit etc. on top.
