Hello,

I recently imported a manual 1999 2-dr Rav4 Type G with the detuned 3SGE and 4WD but I've noticed that there really isn't much information out there about it... In particular, I'm wondering if the Type G's came off the assembly line with a factory lift?

The vehicle is still overseas so I can't make any measurements yet but I want to fit 235-70-16 with minimal to no modifications when it does arrive. Any knowledgeable Rav4 Type G owners here?

Thanks

235-70-16 might be a bit big. I plug the Tire Chart on here a lot, it is an awesome resource for upsizing your wheels.
Per other members, 235-65-16 is good bone-stock, and 225-70-16 as well. Your biggest hurdles will be the transmission lump in the front wheel well. If you go as large as you intend, you may need to bang the hump in and trim some wheel well. The Type G as far as I know only has the extended fender trim, any of the factory springs/shocks/struts don't provide significant additional lift. Make sure to check inside the flares for rust!
