No lights; nothing.
You experience though brings up the topic I alluded to: perhaps I didn't put in enough throttle. If I understood your post, you sort of floored the throttle to let the computer take over.
My test: I'm waiting for another rainy day and doing the manuever over again; I'm going to try to spin the front wheel(s). Then I'm going to gun it. I'll report back with my findings and pay special attention to the dash indicator lights.
I was thinking same thing, you have to gun the engine to go up the steep hill in any car.

Just for the reference in a suitable thread, member summerwind posted ratios which I was unable to find. He didn't mention the source of the numbers, but anyway, here it goes:

4-speed ECT automatic (2WD/4WD) (comes with I4 - this is what I have)
1st 3.943/3.938
2nd 2.197/2.194
3rd 1.413/1.411
4th 1.020/1.019
Reverse 3.145/3.141
Differential 2.923/3.080

5-speed ECT automatic (2WD/4WD) (comes with V6 - CONAN has this)
1st 4.235/4.235
2nd 2.360/2.360
3rd 1.517/1.517
4th 1.047/1.047
5th 0.756/0.756
Reverse 3.378/3.378
Differential 3.080/3.080

"Differential" means the final drive ratio.

So obviously it's much better to climb steep slopes in forward than in reverse.

Zaitcev: I got those numbers and passed them on. They came from a pdf I found on the net back in January that said Toyota RAV4 preliminary specs.
