I'm fairly new to Rav4 engines. First post on here. I want to check the PCV valve but can't seem to find it. I'm thinking it should be around the spark plugs somewhere or am I totally wrong? Having some P0420 issues so want rule that out.

It's a 2004 VVTI 1.8L

Thanks for any help.

On my previous 05 it was located on the rear corner of the valve cover on the passenger side. (opposite the engine oil cap)

You did not specify where your vehicle is from and I don't think they made anything smaller than a 2 litre engine.

Thanks a million for that.
The car is in Ireland. Just pulled the basic car details from cartel.ie.

I also had the P0420 error. Toyota said it was the kat. I would reset it every few weeks or so. Started to get the P430 with the 420 and finally got tired of it. Went ahead and had the kat replaced, no more codes now for over a year.

And yes, the RAV4 also had a 1.8vvti motor with 125ps/123hp. It was the 2wd version only.

Good luck
