Hi,

I got a question here regarding the wheel compatibility between 2005 and 2003 models.
I have 2003 RAV4 Cruiser with 16" alloy wheels and tires 235/60R16. I am wondering whether
2005 16" 5 spoke alloy wheels can fit in my 2003 model?
Anyone done that before? I check the
website https://www.wheel-size.com/size/toyota/rav4/2003/ and find their rims are slightly different
although both model years have the same tires 235/60R16.

So they were different styled wheels, however their physical dimensions were identical. They'll fit perfectly.

As a note, dont compare tire sizes to determine wheel fitment availability. Pay attention to wheel specifications. As an example, the attachments you shared have a typo. The 235/60-16 came on 16x7" alloy wheels. The 215/70-16 was fitted on 16x6.5" steelies. The wheels themselves are interchangeable on the RAV4.2, but you would be wise not to mix the tires up with the wrong wheels.

The attachments are also incorrect about wheel offset. Offset, often expressed as "ET" stands for "Einpresstiefe" and literally translates to "insertion depth".

16x7" ET45 (alloy)
16x6.5" ET35 (steel)

The skinnier steel wheel and the 215/70 tire that was fitted to it, has 10mm less offset. This has the effect of pushing the tire outwards providing the RAV a similar track width as to the 235/60 on 16x7" ET45 wheels.
