Hi all,

It appears the engine in my 2006 RAV4 - the one with the oil consumption issues - has thrown its timing chain, and overheated. It now has no compression.

However, we are pretty sure we would like to keep it. We are actually quite attached to it! Grocery getter, holds the dog create perfectly etc.

We are sourcing a new engine and believe we have found a good replacement.

I am a novice to these engines, I am more in tune with Subaru engines.

Is there a reason why the above-noted model year would not be a good candidate for engine replacement? It has under 100,000klm.

Appreciate it!
