I'm curious if will even bolt up to the AWD transmission wiring and what not is not a problem.
I have a totaled 2010 rav4 FWD and a burned up engine in my 2007 with the oil burning 2.4.
I see the flywheels are the same

Yes, the newer 2AR-FE will fit the old U140F transmission. Definitely keep us updated, would be a cool swap. You'll need most of the accessories from the 2.5L, incl the motor mounts.

You will also need the ECM (engine computer) from the 2AR-FE.

Yes i have the complete 2010 just wrecked on 1 side.
What difference is in the transmission they both look the same as in wiring hook ups.
OK did some research U241E is the FWD trany Same as 2007 to 2010 and the U140F id the AWD trany Same as 2007 to 2010
Only difference i can see is the output shaft on the AWD having the add on for AWD.
So I'm asking with the ECM being a 2wd and i will be using the awd trany will that be a problem?

The 4WD/AWD models have a separate 4WD ECU.

Hood Motor vehicle Automotive tire Automotive exterior Automotive design

Almost for a test run.
2010 parts used
1. lower radiator house
2. all accessories and serpentine belt
3. AC lines from the compressor
4. Transmission cooler
5. Cooler and heater hoses
6. Airbox and throttle plate tube(optional)
7. Engine and transmission harness along with the computer
‐-‐----‐------
8. Changed out engine compartment harness to dash this was a big pain as I have a limited and the donor is a base some options are not wired in
9. Key switch to match the ecm
10. Immobilizer to match the key
I now have it runing everything seems fine.

I also will be swapping out the abs as the wiring harness is different as well

I am down to 1 error with the 4wd asking for help at this point i might try a 2010 4wd module its the U0129

If it's running good then awesome job man, that's alot of work. And if you have any current/future ecm issues/codes, contact Marc at Frankenstein Motorworks. He tunes some Toyota ECUs and is an expert with a variety of Toyota engine swaps, primarily I believe the 2GR-FE and the 2AR I believe. Really nice guy.
