My wife's 2010 Rav4 has an AC problem. When I turn it on the AC little orange indicator lite will start to blink after a few seconds and no AC operation. I checked and i think it is full of freon, or what ever the new stuff is they put in now days. If I pus the AC button repeatedly, the air will get cold but it will not stay on. someone said it may be the run sensor? Where is this sensor and how do I check it? And what else can I check? Thank you.

The blinking A/C light seems to be a common problem for most Toyota models (same thing happened to my 2003 Sequoia). Couple of quick things: First thing to check is the ground wire on the compressor, if it is not secure the a/c won't work. Tightening the screw fixed my problem. The next thing to check is the magnetic clutch relay, some Toyotas (not sure about the RAV) use the same relay for the horn so try to swap them and see if that's the problem. New relay should be about $15 at an auto parts store. Good luck.
