So I've been having some serious mechanical issues with my Rav4. The planetary gears of the transmission were crushed at 119 k miles and the transmission was venting fluid. I had it rebuilt. This is passed I think.

My current issue at 126 k miles is that there is a loud high pitched noise coming from the rear of the car. It's independent of braking, acceleration, or turning. However, the faster the car is moving the higher frequency and pitch it gets.

I first thought this was the wheel bearing but I jacked the car up and pushed at 12 and 6. The tire was solid and the whole car shook together.

Tires are new and the same noise was there with the old ones.

It doesn't seem like the noise is from the left or the right side more than the other. It comes from the rear of the car and is louder the faster the car goes. I rolled down both rear windows and sounds the same.

I have the 2011 v6 all wheel drive. Any ideas of what it could be or what to check? I fear it may be the all wheel drive...
