I own a 2013 Rav4 Limited with 45,000 miles - 4 cylinder. Just ordered a front brake kit from Rock Auto (pads and rotors) - Power Stop K258 Kit.

Are there any special tools necessary for this job besides just normal tools?

It appears to be an easy parts off / parts on replacement job.

I haven't done it with the rav4 yet, but I believe so. Just need something to push the cylinder/piston back for the new brake pads to fit.

Noticed this Post just now.... Seems you ordered a K258 kit (275 mm rotor) which is for LE model and you have a limited Rav 4 model which uses a 296 mm rotor... Did it work?

for the caliper, I've always just used a c-clamp and the old pad. should only take a few mins given everything brakes loose easily
I just wedge a flat head screwdriver between the back pad and the rotor. I then use the back pad to force the piston back in. Works like a charm every time.
