I've browsed this forum extensively looking for how to disable the hideous daytime running lights on my new RAV but have been unsuccessful. I no longer have the stock head unit installed to disable it in the car, and when they installed the aftermarket deck the DRL turned back on by default even though I had disabled it before.

I've seen that the dealer could do it in older models, is this the case with the 4th generations too? Additionally, if they turn it off with their handhelds, will the option turn back on if someone disconnects the battery for maintenance sometime down the road?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I think that it can be done with Techstream. The data is written to non-volatile memory, so battery disconnection will have no effect.
