Part of the license plate will show in the camera, this is normal. By the way, just wiping the lens will not alter the camera angle.
There has been other posts regarding this same issue which turns out to not be an issue. The brain ignores stuff and then out of the blue see something and from then on out, you can't un-see it.
Your image should look like this one from a video I found online. You can see part of the license plate. If yours is more than this, then maybe there is something else wrong. The video is an instruction on the guidelines so the red line is part of the instructions so disregard it.
