Hi All,

My new Rav4 Hybrid has just run 400 miles in about 2weeks and i am not able to achieve eco score of 50 in normal mode and 65-70 in eco mode. Fuel economy is hovering around 34-35 mpg. I am never a hard footer on the gas paddle rather too gentle. Should i take this to Toyota service for review and check if there is an issue.

Does the traction control turned on has anything to do with this?

Kindly suggest.

Thank you everyone for all of your suggestions and comments. It gives me relief that there is no problem in the brand new vehicle. But the acceleration in the vehicle is sometimes annoying where is revs more than I press the paddle and i would have expected it with lesser engine noise. I live in Alpharetta and there are some minor ups and downs and it is specially the case if i am acceleration from stop in upward direction.

Also i noticed that twice i had to rev it pressing on the gas a little more and the rpm went in high power in odometer. I am sure in both occasions i smelled light burning smell and it went out immediately after rpm came down. Should this be concerned of. My total odometer reading is about 500 miles now and i have refilled my tank with 87 octane from Exxon for the first time.
