I purchased a 2024 Hybrid Limited. Love the style and features of the car.
However, I am am highly disappointed in a few things about this car. I think Toyota did a GREAT disservice and disrespect for this car in this model and year. Let me explain.
1. Toyota does not make a cargo net hook for the envelope cargo net to hold groceries. They have a cargo net to go over all your stuff but not the hooks on side of inside rear hatch. This is kinda no brainer. Toyota gets a F for this.
2. Highway cabin noise is loud. For a flagship car on the 2024 Hybrid Limited, I would think sound deadening would be a good thing. I installed sound deadening but should have been done at factory.
3. Tires...Dunlop Grandtrek 2.0 were factory installed. They are rated as very high noise. Why have as default? Dunlop rebates i would assume. Why have a sub par tire on a $40k car. Toyota gets a less than F on that one. I cant wait to change those tires.
4. Air noise. Alot of air noise in cabin due to poor sealing of windows. Toyota gets a D on that one.
The highlighted issues seem obvious if quality control had any input.
For a company that prides itself on a good car, they overlooked them for profit.
This is poor management and quality control.
I do enjoy the cars styling and features.
I hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears because this car has alot of potential but falls short when profit over rules quality.

Then why on earth did you buy one?

Surely anyone looking to buy a car takes it for a decent test drive and so you should have picked up these things you don't like before you signed on the dotted line.

I have an AU '24 hybrid. Tyre noise (Bridgestone tyres) is only a minor irritant foe me. No wind noise from windows in my car. Road noise at highway speeds could be better but again, is only a minor irritant for me and not really an issue. The cargo area has 4 hooks in the corners for tie-down straps which is more than enough for me.

There was no highway nearby to test. The issues were not known at purchase, especially the cargo net thing. Trust me, I am willing to sell the car at this point for a decent price. I guess I put more trust in a "reputable" car company then they deserve. In my opinion, Toyota does not deserve any trust when they ignore these issues. You are correct, shame on me. I will keep the car unless I can sell for what I purchased but will never buy a Toyota again

1. research accessories before you buy car, cargo net cheap, jeeze
2. not the flagship, should have bought a Prime, again research would tell you.
3. in the 60 years I have bought cars, the stock tires are always bad.
4. air noise, some doors are misaligned, I have no wind noise on any of my '24 doors.

1. spend a few bucks
2. buy a flagship if you want one
3. get real
4. check the door seals and alignment.

My Prime is surprisingly quiet, and I was able to tell this before buying the car. I was and am still pleased.

Well, it might be a little too late in the game for the RAV4.5 to have "a lot of potential", because jit's been around since late 2018 and the new generation is coming in a couple of months :)

As @yarisugi said, perhaps consider selling the car or trading it in; since you said it is MY 2024 and has its first set of tires, it may still be on factory warranty, so you can expect a good resale value.

Also, as @gregeusa said, the R4H Limited - despite its bells and whistles - is not really the flagship of the RAV4 lineup. And in general, the RAV4 as a species is a bestseller compact SUV for those who value TCO over luxury features. For those who want a luxury compact SUV Toyota has Lexus NX, but I don't think you can get those below $50K.

It's a lot harder to research a vehicle (the proper old-fashioned way) when there aren't any on the lot. I imagine a lot of people bought their Toyotas in 2024 sight unseen.

NewRAV4owner, the one thing I don’t agree with you is in the sealing of the windows. I wash my car with a high pressure hose every week at a detailing garage. I have yet to see any water leakage from the windows. That makes me think the window seals are fine. Perhaps your car is different.

I agree with you, Toyota should have had better sound proofing. But for me it’s only an issue on highway driving which I don’t do much of.

when I began looking for a car, I honestly was afraid to go with any other brand than Honda or Toyota. I’ve had very good experiences with my previous 2 Toyotas. When I checked out the Honda, which was a very nice car (and quieter), the deal breaker was that it didn’t have room for a spare tire. 😳

On my last car, the dealer threw in a cargo net for free. Though I thought it was a great idea, I never used it once. I found it was more trouble than it was worth. Since Toyota has a way to use a cargo net to tie down items, it seems they did give some thought to that idea. However they probably could have added enough rings so that your could use a cargo net in the traditional way.

I might suggest you take a few minutes to write to Toyota with your feedback. Since they are going to lose you as a customer, I’m sure they will be interested in hearing from you.

Sorry your car didn’t work out for you.

Maybe it is due to my moving from a 2008 Limited to the 2024 Hybrid Limited but I thought the highway noise was not bat. Could just be "not bad in comparison" as I thought the 2008 was pretty loud.

I've also had no issues with wind noise due to windows not sealing properly. Maybe that falls into a warranty category - at least is seems like it should.

It's well nigh impossible to find the "perfect" car, perhaps at all for anyone's total mix of priorities, but for sure at anywhere near the cost of the Rav4, which I believe reasonably affordable in the market for all you get. There's a decent range of trims up the price ladder. I did a lot of research and test driving - the Mazda has a great sound system, the Subaru (we have one) is a great car but no hybrid (2025 came out with a hybrid Forrester, but for one thing not great MPG compared to my Rav). . . we can go on and on with all models' strengths and weaknesses. I like my '23 Rav4 Hybrid Ltd, a lot. Still, I think parts of this thread are a little harsh or defensive. I hope Toyota has their design and engineering departments read threads like this and act on what the best testers in the world -owners- suggest. My car came with Michelin Primacy, thank you, but I knew in advance from reviews that road noise is legitimate complaint. I (and others) have shared opinions on this forum about the infotainment system -- I think Toyota's mechanical engineering is many steps ahead of the investment they've bothered to make in infotainment programming. I don't share this OP's dismissal of Toyota (I've owned many over the years), but let's not go too far and dismiss the legitimacy of letting Toyota know what can be even better. It's a good business model to listen.

A higher trim Rav is a $30K car with $10K+ worth of options.

It took me a while to absorb this when I purchased my loaded XSE for about $36K in 2019 and realized some of its shortcomings. In hindsight, I may have been more satisfied with a mid level Highlander as its a more expensive car (more meat on the bone for Toyota), where the Rav is a base, mid sized car. Rav is a Camry where the Highlander was an Avalon.

Not sure if other manufactures do this but the OEM tires that Toyota uses are not the same as their aftermarket counterparts, they have less tread and wear out generally around 30K-40K miles.

The Dunlop's lasted about 28K miles before the noise was too much for me.

well said, my '24 Prime was about $58k out the door. (got every option I could), but again it is a $30k car with nicer trim, more features, and the added expense of the electric motors, the bigger battery, etc.

None of those options made it quieter... BUT luckily the Prime does indeed get extra soundproofing, so mine is quieter.

Also, in general, it's been observed those built in Japan have higher overall assembly quality.

There's several posts here where wind noise was abated by tweaking a door or two to better seat the gaskets.
lubricate your gaskets so they seal better. The poster with creaking gaskets should have done this long ago, only logical.

Even 6 figure cars need door and hatch gasket maintenance...

No offense, but a little common sense and reality checks will go a long way.

I was in the camp of order sight unseen, so was a roll of the dice on tires, was not about to reject the purchase based on what showed up... but I too was disappointed in their choice of OEM, especially XSE with a mildly sporty (I know, I know) suspension. I would at least have liked to have 2 or 3 choices to order, but I know that's not how Toyota works. When I got home & looked up data, one summary as shown below should make their engineers ashamed.

I agree with the op, for the high-end model there should be better metal insulation these cars now are very cheap if I just lean my bicycle up against the side of it; it pings it.

Mil-spec on the metal is very thin now be cuz of Cafe regulations to make the cars lighter and get better fuel economy, the 2018 RAV4 has very different metal in a good way.

It is the ultimate aluminum can!

My 24 came with Michelin Primacy a/s they're okay but the car is noisy and they're all noisy! tires make a big difference.

There is next to no sound deadening Mat on the doors or quarter panels in these cars. At least my year.

At some point when I feel ambitious I'm going to pick up a couple of boxes of some sound deadening mat and just stick it inside the doors and quarter panels next time I have things apart.
That will make a big difference, these cars resonate like snare drums!

But everyone has their own tolerance, I came out of a 24 Mercedes from a lemon law buy back!
Coming into this RAV4 even though I did drive many of them; until you get on the freeways and do a long haul you won't truly see the decibel levels in the cabin. Different Road surfaces also have a huge effect on interior sound.

I personally still wish I had my 2016 4Runner, but I'm not one to collect cars so it went. But that was a good ride all the way around and you were safe in it!

But on a positive note I will say that all of the functions on the infotainment, navigation and phone app, all work flawlessly and I don't lose my sanity trying to get them to work.
But the one thing that makes me bat crap! Is the heretic sounding seatbelt alarm that goes off and gets louder and louder, for me it's a true test of patience just to put my safety belt on while I'm backing out or pulling into a garage, And I'm saying this very calmly:)

Anyway this is just my two cents on my observations of the Limited R4 hybrid.
