Hi, my first post here. I'm looking to get extra winter rims for my 2006 RAV4 V6 sport edition.
I already have Haakapellitta R2 tires( 235 55r 18).

Will a set of Mazda rims 5 x 114.3 , 8" wide but 50mm offset fit? Will having the tires offset 5mm inwards from the OEM rims cause any clearance problems. Or, 40mm offset rims fit better than 50mm if I cant find anything with a 45mm offset.

I've searched the forums and also googled it and there seems to be a lot of conflicting info.

i would not do a +50 offset...i would be concerned about center of gravity and handling issues...while it might not be too bad i still would not trust it.

I'll probably pass on the Mazda rims. I have found some Mitsubishi rims with a 40mm offset / 67.1 centerbore. Those rims should work fine with a hubcentric spacer. Unfortunately there are very few used rims that have 60.1 centrebores.

Or, I might just put the winter tires on the OEM sport rims and toss the all seasons tires. Then, either downsize to 17" OEM rims or try to find 2 more 18" sport rims next spring.
