Hello, my 99’ rav4 awd won’t start.
I have replaced the battery and alternator as the battery light has lit up a couple times before, so I figured I’d change both.
i do have an IID device inside of the car yet the device was draining my battery and destroying the alternator.
I’m due for an oil change but the oil level right now is fine. However once I get the car jumpstarted the vehicle starts to run hot yet something down near the engine is burning. A bit of smoke comes out.
When I turn the ignition key on it wont start again. The lights do come on, the windows do work… I’m not sure what the problem is and I get no codes when i install a odb 2 reader on.

-- Does the needle on the coolant temperature gauge in the instrument cluster go above the halfway mark? If so, do not drive the Rav. Report back here.

-- I suggest googling on symptoms of a head gasket leak. Report back here which symptoms, if any, your Rav is showing.
