A/C button

I have a 2004 Rav4 base model.

The black area around the A/C button has peeled off. The button still works but you can not see the text any more.

THis is an example of what I am talking about

Can the A/C button be replaced or does the entire HVAC control area need to be replaced?

You should just be able to get the A/C button. I would try a wreckers or used parts place first though because the dealer price is gonna hurt...

Well that's the problem. I can not find just the A/C button at a junk yard, they will only sell me the entire HVAC unit as shown in the pic above.

Has anyone dealt with this problem...please advise. thanks

Call your local dealer. Ask for a price on part number: 846614203.

This is purely cosmetic, right? Even if you get a new button, won't it happen again? Looks like the eBay one has the same issue starting. Why not make up your own white-on-black label and stick it on?

Update: Toyota part #8466142030 (KNOB, COOLER CONTROL) - paid $3.89

The AC button pops out (I carefully used a 1" metal putty knife), the new one snaps right into place. very easy and worth the 4 bucks.
