So, I'm working on replacing the alternator on my girlfriends Rav 4 (and a few other things, but ill leave this topic at the alternator.) Upon me loosening the tensioner to remove the alternator the other end of the bracket wasnt even held down to anything on the side of the engine. It was literally "kickstanding" I called it lol without being attached to anything at all. I notice that it seems this bracket goes to the bolt that sandwhiches through to the air compressor bracket. The bolt is still there but broke in half. Now my question goes, can anyone inform to me that this is correct, where the alternator bracket bolts to the air compressor bracket, before I start into removing the a/c comp. I was going to remove the comp. (since it seems it is just hanging there) set it up on my work bench and drill out or work the bolt out, then find a replacement bolt.
