Hi,

I am planning to take one month vacation and I have to leave my RAV parking outside where temperature is between -10 to -30 degree. I am not sure the battery can last that longer under cold weaher so I want to disconnet battery.

I want to know long term battery disconnection has any impact to car computer? For sure, radio will loose preset and I don't care.

Thanks in advance!

From what owners have posted, when you reconnect the battery and put the car into service again the computerized system will need to relearn some parameters and so the engine and drive system will operate in learn mode for a while which means that the RAV won't drive quite as you would wish until it does relearn, but it will not operate unsafely.

If you do disconnect the battery under those temperature conditions, suggest that it be removed from the vehicle and stored in a warmer place.

If you have the option I'd leave it connected in the car on a float charger.
