Got the offer from my local dealer to test drive the new model, but the range on offer in the UK is a bit limited at the moment. One 2. 0 petrol and two diesel, no autos on the diesels. No 2.4 no 6 cylinder, so I am happy to wait and see what develops.

Anyone going to take them up on a test drive?

interesting. Was the range as limited when you bought 4.2? .
There will no V6 and no 2.4 in Europe anytime soon.

Recieved a brochure and price list from Toyota today(sat). That has taken ages to come,

The small 2.0 3 door that I have has "acceptable" performance. I want an auto because I do 50% town and 50% motorway driving and the only auto option is the 2.0 petrol which is definitely slower than my current car.

If Toyota are serious about moving the RAV4 upmarket and competing with the x3 then they should look at the engine options BMW make available.

I can wait a year for an auto diesel or V6 if necessary! I can't see them bringing in the 2.4.
