Anyone knows Production Schedule?

Okay...
my RAV4 Hybrid is on the way but the paper work showed the production scheduled is 1/30/2016.
I'm told it would be sooner since I already have the VIN number, dealer doesn't know when it will arrive. I'm hoping before 1/30 but is that realistic?
Dealer said once it gets the VIN number which means the production already started and it's already passed the paint process.

anyone?

My local dealer said they are typically sold within a couple days of arrival and I would imagine they are still filling the pipeline (I have not seen a dealer website showing more than 3 in inventory.) Your build date is only 3 weeks out. That seems reasonable to me.
understood but do you know if the Production Scheduled date is the actual build date or arrival date?
dealer thinks it will arrive before 1/30/16 since the VIN is already generated but if the production date is the date actually being build...it's unlikely it will arrive prior.

i'm turning my old car in and hope to get it prior to 1/30/16

Living in SoCal I can say that is not the case here. Inventories are low, but that's because they haven't shipped many, not because they are flying off the lot. Some of them have been sitting on the dealer's lot for 4 weeks and longer. I know because there aren't that many and I'm looking at specific cars.

FWIW...Using autotrader.com and checking today, hybrids make up 6.7% of total US inventory of 2016 Ravs. Within 100 miles of where I live in SoCal hybrids make up 2.9% of all Ravs in inventory. Now since Toyota says they expect hybrids to represent 10%-15% of all Ravs sold, I'd say they are low on hybrid inventories, especially where I live.

My dealer has had several in stock, they still have five now, if they had the color and package I wanted in stock, I may have jumped on one, but haven't seen it yet. It's possible the reason they've had more is cuz the Hybrid is only available in AWD, I've yet to see a FWD 4.3 or 4.4 here since I bought my 4.3 in 2006.
Interesting situation here - inventory scans for the four Toyota dealers within a 100-mile radius show no hybrid RAVs. Don't know whether that is because they haven't received any or because they have sold all of what they had.

They may have sold the one or two they've gotten but for some reason Toyota just hasn't sent many here yet.
Up here in Ontario (Canada), I was in for a visit and the hybrids are on a 6-week back order as they are currently only being built in Japan.
are you in the GTA? we were probably the first to get ours...i must have called 40 dealerships and got lucky with one available in st catharines. We picked it up in the 2nd week of december

We are in Toronto and wanted specifically the blue Limited with Technology Package but those are few and far between. IIRC, there might be one in Midland, Ontario as of January 9, but it wasn't the interior colour (cinnamon) we wanted so we will be getting ours from Japan. We also were told 6 weeks.

I'm quite OK with that. When I bought my first hybrid back in 2001, the wait lists were 6 months or longer.
I just placed an order for mine. They said it would take 12 weeks. Or less, if they happen to find exactly what I ordered somewhere nearby.

Yuppp. And they did nothing to sell me the car. I had to almost beg for a test drive, and they didn't even have a hybrid for me to try. Then they made it really unclear my options regarding ordering one versus hoping a similar one randomly becomes available. At least they didn't require a deposit, as they said via email they needed. And they said they could give me 2 weeks advance notice when they know for sure the arrival date.

Well, if they don't have one, they don't have one. Our dealer had ordered one, but didn't have one yet either, so we couldn't test drive it either. We had test driven the gas LE model though, and the sizing was basically the same, and that was the most important to us so we ordered.

As for the options, I didn't find it confusing, but that's because in Canada there is only one option package anyway, which is the Technology Package. Furthermore, it is only available on the Limited. In Canada, there is no convenience package (or cargo net package) on the XLE. It's just XLE standard, Limited standard, and Limited with Technology

They had originally told us 4-6 weeks when we ordered 2 weeks ago (emphasizing the 6 weeks), but when we called back last week they didn't have any estimate for us, which makes me wonder it's going to be longer than 2 months.

If it is longer than 2 months, then we'll probably just get winter tires (and maybe the winter mats) next winter.

EDIT:

I just checked out the Toyota.com website for the US. The layout is terrible for comparing the options packages. Confusing.

Hi. New here. Just bought a Limited w/tech pkg from my dealer yesterday and they seem to think I can get it by the end of the month. But they have to check tomorrow and let me know for sure.
End of the month is a week from now. Maybe there is one available locally? Let us know what happens. Good luck.

P.S. Welcome!
When I use the Toyota web site to "check Inventory," it says that my local dealership has tons of RAV4 Hybrids. But I know they don't. So, the web site lies and just wants you to go to the dealer.
Based on what I have seen with some local dealers, autotrader.com has a fairly accurate list of inventory.

The dealer has their own web site, which will be the most accurate. At least within a day or two. Toyota.com can be off by a week or more.

I tried that once before without success. But I just tried it again, and found the right link! Aha, now I know exactly what I'm dealing with. Thanks!
