OK, I know that my country was devastated by a hurricane. But, life goes on. Ever since I started in this forum in 1996, (21 years to this date, wow, that long?) I always wanted to install a turbo on my 3SFE engine. But with a heavy mortgage, and then a son in collage, well, you get the idea. When I started the project some thing in life came along that pull the rug from under my feet. Yes, parts were bought, but at the last moment, they ended up being all stored in the garage. This has happen for everyone for diverse projects in life.:nerd

This time, I told my wife: "It's on babe". Especially if you have a great group of guys at work who are will to give their time, tools, effort and most important, knowledge to the project. I told them what I have and they all laugh. Some were out dated, and parts that are not congruent. (Yes, there is a math teacher among them) And, the best part, I'm doing it at school in the summer. With a very large garage with hundreds of power tools, lifts, jacks, a lot of space and 24/7 security, you name it, they got it. Permission was granted by the Department of Education of PR as long as students are involved. I said "OK". But I pick the students. >:D

For those who are not familiar with my ride, here it is.

I also got my hand of a 3SFE head. Porting is a no go, but polishing and maybe bigger valves might be in the making.

A new engine oil cooler (I might have to relocate it)

It might look something like this (this is from a project on the net)

The kit I'm looking to buy is from Amazon. Something’s I might use some I might not use, like the manifold and the turbo adapter.

And, of course, a clean Credit Card for those last minute, "Run and buy this, while I hold this". There is still a lot more to do and plan. More parts to be bought, mainly small parts (Change ALL fluids like Amsoil, gaskets, Teflon, bolts, Royal Purple Turbo engine oil, screws, and what not) But at least I'm see light at the end of the tunnel. BTW, I had my engine compression tested and it's in great condition. Looks like changing the oil religiously every 3,000 to 4,000 miles paid off. :nerd

Glad to "hear" it. Keep us posted on the work as it progresses. Does your home have power yet?

Looks like quite an involved project Angel, but it should pay off well when complete. Keep us updated. Good that you have access to a great working environment and also with student involvement. Thanks for the pics - I couldn't make sense of the fuel regulator though, probably because much is still in packaging.

Yes it does, just yesterday. My son was a little emotional since he could get online with his computer. I didn't listen to my sound equipment since the day of my birthday (September 19). The next day the hurricane hit. Man, it was great to have a cold glass of milk with cookies. It was bad for a time.

But some of my students were a lot worst. This was our school. I mean it was ripped to pieces with winds of 160 to 180 mph for 16 our straight. The pole you see is made of cement, 90% of them in our area were on the ground. The metal once were bent like tooth picks. Our house was fine, but the rest was like a war zone. Power generators were being stolen from homes, ours was lucky. I guess when desperation moved in, well, everyone had to survive. You see those houses , that area had homes, just behind the Walgreen's, they all fell making a big hole, people were in those homes. The dogs found them, all dead, among them. one child of two months. Gas lines, well, I entered that same line at about 6:45AM. I got gas a 3:00PM.

My wife cried, when we saw the rest of the municipalities.

THANKS TO THE WORLD. WE WILL COME BACK FROM DARKNESS. WE HAVE INDIAN (TAINO), SPANIARD, AND AFRICAN BLOOD. WE WILL SURVIVE. THE ODDS ARE GREAT, BUT OUR SPIRIT IS STRONG, OUR FAITH UNBREAKABLE, OUR BLOOD IS PURE, WE SHALL ENDURE, WE WILL ENDURE AND WE WILL COME BACK. :crying

I'm not using them. They came with the kit but I think I'm going with Russell or Earl. All, -6AN

Do you have a link for that kit you considered? I was going to piece together a kit myself w/ 3S-gte turbo manifold, T3 turbo, oil relocation kit with oil cooler, 3S-GTE oil pan( or possibly just tap into current pan) then if possible purchase a kit with the remaining required(BOV and boost controller, wastegate, intercooler w/ pipes etc etc..
