Today first time i had a chance of driving my rav4 in the night time...
I noticed that there is no light for the auto transmission shift knob,
since i am not used to the rav4 transmission shift knob it was very difficult for me to change the transmission..
MY old corrolla even had a light in the transmission..

Could you explain more of what you're talking about? The gear selection is on the digital display in the instrument cluster.

Yes, but I think Amy means that it is hard to navigate the gate/labyrinth to each gear without the benefit of some light. Or, if I just speak for myself (sorry, Amy), I know I've had a bit of trouble with it.

Yeap the shift gate takes some getting used to. I have to concentrate on pushing the shift lever to the right when I finally get into Drive so I don't end up in 3rd.

As Dr Phil says...."What were they thinking.."

Expect it will get easier as time goes by

ppuder, you are correct. that is what i meant it..
It was very hard for me to move the shift knob in the night time..
It will be very easy if there is light in the gear section,
If the shift gate is straight as old toyota old cars then there is no issue it all..
But here right>down>left>down>down to 4>then left to 3>..

i have to memorize these all the gear shift..

Just noticed that there is a bright light just above the gas petel and extremely bottom portion of the dashboard.
Who wants light over there?
