Where is your AUX located? Just out of curiosity, I don't have AUX on my 08...

 

Sorry I wasn't clear. I mean the BUTTON on the radio that I push to activate the AUX stopped working.

 

Is the AUX button separate on yours? On mine it's CD/Aux, I have to push it again to switch between them...

Anyway, it's still possible that it's the jack that's bad. On my unit it won't switch to Aux mode unless it senses that something is plugged in.

 

Mine says Disc/Aux. The Disc part engages, that is, I can play CDs. But even though I keep pressing the button, with my mp3 player plugged in, nothing happens. The Aux just won't engage.

 

The jack itself has a sensor. If it doesn't sense something plugged into it, then it won't activate the circuit and you'll only be able to hear the CD signal. Besides the obvious possibility of a bad head unit, another could be a bad plug, or an external device that isn't completely plugged in.

 

What's odd, however, is that I have three choices to plug in the mp3 - in the rear, in the armrest storage compartment, or under the radio. None work. Must be a had head unit, I guess.

 

Do you have the stock JBL system or have you upgraded. My 2008 Limited with JBL only has a single AUX input located inside the center arm rest.

I have DC power outlets in the locations you described but not AUX jacks.

I have absolutely the same issue (I have only one plug though). Last week it worked (I could switch between CD and AUX) even when nothing was plugged in. Yesterday with ipod plugged i can not switch.

Were you able to solve your problem?
Is there a fuse for AUX (I didn't see one..)

Advise from anyone is greatly appreciated - my kids a devastated that they can not play music in the car
