Thanks. I actually might just replace the boot. The car was sitting for over a year and I drove it 5 miles and that's when the boot cracked. The grease coming out is clean so it should be fine for a 15$ boot instead.
If Rock Auto doesn't have it, then just replace the boot. It is a PITA to do if it's the outer. There are some split boots available which might work. I have had mixed results with them. Anyway, yeah, the cheap option is to just replace the boot. Lots of you toobes on how to do it.
